REDUCE, REUSE, RECYCLE, REPLACE
Reduce
We are a cosmetics
company that want our customers to use less packaging, particularly single use
plastics. We have already taken significant steps ourselves to reduce the
amount of plastics we use, from our laboratories to the production line,
packing and shipping. We have invested in new cleaning technology and processes
that ensure quality and safety are maintained and this is enshrined in our
comprehensive Good Manufacturing Process (GMP).
We also aim to help our customers reduce waste by providing guidance on best practice and the latest innovations in packaging design.
Reuse
Re-using is one way to prevent waste from entering the waste stream. With landfill filling up at a rapid rate and thousands of tonnes of transit packaging being used every year in the UK, re-useable packaging made of metal, plastic or wood can often be used time and time again. Don’t be surprised if your delivery arrives on a used pallet in reused boxes, every little helps.
Not only
does it prevent items from being sent to landfill, it minimises the amount of
raw material used, the energy used to produce and also to move the new
packaging materials around. Moving raw materials to the plant and the
production of new products uses up fuel as does the delivery to the local store
once produced. So reducing the amount of single-use packaging used can greatly
benefit the environment.
Recycle
When we
hear the word recycle, we typically think of it as an end process – a
conscientious afterthought, whereas in actual fact we need to go back to the
start. In order to master the recycling process, we need to address not only
the question of what to do with a product at the end of its life but the whole
fundamentals of its design.
Replace
Sometimes
you might think it’s seems too difficult to find a suitable replacement for
your current plastic packaging – but we have some handy alternatives that can
help you make the switch to more eco-friendly packaging such as aluminium,
glass, sugarcane or PCR (Post Consumer Recyclables).
We know most
of our customers are considering greener operations, but we want to help
businesses around the UK make the necessary changes they need by offering a
strong array of effective replacements. By replacing single use plastic
packaging, businesses throughout the UK can join the crusade against plastic
waste and instead help build a successful circular economy.
