Copper Peptides – The Scientific Solution
Wrinkles are something most of us would like to keep under control. However, with all the products that are marketed to us daily, how can you tell which products have effective ingredients?
In the case of copper peptides, scientifically known as GHK-Cu peptide; this ingredient has the world of scientific research backing its properties. From what we understand, the level of GHK-Cu peptide in the human blood is very high at age 20. By the age 60, the levels would have dropped by more than 70%. This decline coincides with the noticeable decrease in the regenerative capacity of our skin as we age, hence wrinkles.
So what happens when copper peptides are added in cosmetics? The American Academy of Dermatology conducted a 12 week facial study on 67 women. They analysed their skin after 12 weeks and reported that a GHK-Cu cream applied twice daily improved aged skin appearance, increased thickness, reduced wrinkles and strongly stimulated growth of cells on the top layer of our skin. The same study found copper peptide GHK-Cu to be non-toxic and non-irritating. Furthermore, University of Pennsylvania as well as the University of Medicine and Dentistry, New Jersey found similar findings in their own large scale studies.
In summary, there’s enough scientific evidence to suggest that a product with copper peptides is likely to produce the desired anti-ageing effects, making you look younger.
