Beard Oil
With the growth of men’s beards reaching epidemic proportions in the UK and Europe we have seen a corresponding growth in the number of beard accessories and cosmetic products available. Now every guy loves a gadget so the appeal of trimmers, shapers and clippers is clear but how do skincare products fit in the mix?
For the first time beard-grower there is a lot to experiment with shape and length but the condition of the beard hair can have a dramatic effect of the finished look and, importantly from a partner’s perspective, the feel. As winter approaches cold and dry weather will make facial hair dry out and go a lot more bristly. These hairs than tend to break resulting in a sharp and coarse feeling beard and irregular shapes.
A good oil will moisturise the beard and condition the skin underneath, it will make it smoother and easier to style. Oils also help prevent unsightly flakes of dry skin in the beard itself. Most oils will add a fragrance that will last throughout the day.
The best time to apply beard oil is in the morning immediately after showering or washing To use beard oil pour a small amount into the palm of the hand dip in the fingers and apply directly to the skin under the beard, working the remaining oil through the rest of the beard and moustache.
There are a lot of oils available but it is worth paying a little more for a quality naturally organic product, a small amount will go a long way.
